Marian Gets Winning Hit for Saddleback

Jason Marian’s bases-loaded single with two outs in the bottom of the ninth gave Saddleback an 8-7 victory over Riverside in an Orange Empire Conference baseball game Monday.

Riverside (12-10, 4-5) had scored three unearned runs in the top of the ninth to tie the game, 7-7.

Jimmy Luster hit his sixth homer of the season in the first inning and Chris Ridenour hit his eighth of the season, a three-run shot in the fourth, as Saddleback (19-5, 6-3) opened a 6-0 lead.

Saddleback 374, Santa Ana 381, Palomar 389, Cypress 412--Brian Miller shot a one-under par 71 at El Prado to lead Saddleback (8-1 in conference).
