A charred body was found Wednesday in the back seat of a burning car near the Roscoe Boulevard offramp of the Hollywood Freeway in Sun Valley, police said.
The grisly discovery was made about 4:15 a.m. by California Highway Patrol officers and Los Angeles firefighters responding to a report of a car fire, said Officer Eddy Zelaya, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Police Department.
“The car was fully engulfed, They saw that there was something in the car and called LAPD detectives,” Zelaya said. Information on the victim was not immediately available.
Investigators have called the death suspicious but have not yet ruled it a homicide, Zelaya said. Foothill Division detectives are handling the investigation.
