LAGUNA HILLS

Portions of Moulton Parkway and Ridge Route Drive will temporarily become county highways so the strip of asphalt in the city can be improved by the county using its own funds, officials said. The action, taken at a recent council meeting and unanimously approved by council members, means the county can continue its effort to widen Moulton Parkway from south of El Toro Road to El Pacifico and Ridge Route Drive to accommodate increased traffic. Some residential property will be acquired by county officials, said David Updegraff, a county official working on the project. The county annexed the streets to Laguna Hills in July 1996. The city will not be required to contribute funds to the cost of the improvements, slated to be completed in 2002. Information: (949) 707-2630.
