“Less CSUN Freshmen Needing Remedial Classes,” read a March 17 headline.

From the headline it would appear that some L.A. Times writers need a remedial class in English. The headline should have read “Fewer CSUN Freshmen . . . “ It’s appalling that people who make a living as journalists don’t know when to use “less” versus “fewer.”
