Beginning Thursday, commuters who ride-share to work in the Irvine Spectrum area will be eligible to win, among other prizes, trips to Tahiti and Hawaii. “Carmageddon 1999,” sponsored by Spectrumotion, an Irvine-based company that promotes ride sharing, and KEZY radio, features monthly drawings for those who pledge to try car-pooling, van-pooling, Metrolink rail service, bicycling, walking or taking the bus to work.
Additionally, the Carmageddon Prize Patrol will seek out participants on Thursdays during peak commute times. Those selected will be placed into a separate drawing for a trip for two to Tahiti. Decals and pledge cards may be obtained by calling Spectrumotion at (949) 72-SHARE. The promotion is scheduled to last through July.
