Scam Artists

Your April 20 article on scam artists and their upscale brand of living really struck a raw nerve. A few years back, I had to declare a Chapter 13 bankruptcy in order to save my little 900-square-foot house. I’m still paying off my debts.
Yet these scammers can manipulate the system so they lose virtually nothing. Even worse, if lawmakers tried to do something about legal loopholes, they’d probably make it that much worse for those of us who use bankruptcy only as a last resort.
