City officials and merchants will raise scholarship money for low-income residents this month with a “Tisket-a-Tasket” lottery.
Ten gift baskets, including items from stores such as Renaissance Bistro, Strouds, Bookstar, Crocodile Cafe and United Artists Eatery, will be displayed at stores in the Brea Marketplace from Friday through May 22. A raffle will be held; tickets cost $1. Tickets are available at stores in the Brea Marketplace, on the north side of the Brea Mall on Birch Street, or at the Community Center’s Youth & Family Resource Center, 695 E. Madison Way. Proceeds will go to the Helping Hands, which allows low-income families to participate in the city’s recreational and cultural programs. Information: (714) 990-7750.
