SANTA FE SPRINGS — Five men arrested on suspicion of murder were being questioned by police Monday in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Huntington Park teenager at a raucous party.
William Saldana, 17, was found dead at 8:20 p.m. Sunday in the 11000 block of Fredson Street, according to Whittier police, who patrol Santa Fe Springs on contract. Officers were investigating complaints that party guests were outside a house, fighting and hurling beer bottles.
Most partygoers ran from the scene when police arrived, but the five who remained in the house were arrested. Police said a trail of blood led from Saldana’s body to the rear porch.
The victim’s 19-year-old brother suffered a cut to the head and a 19-year-old Huntington Park man was stabbed in the back. Both were treated at a hospital and released. The men who were arrested were from Bellflower, Glendale, Downey and Long Beach, police said.
