Reaction to Tragedy

President Clinton would have us believe that the National Rifle Assn. and responsible gun owners are to blame for the crimes committed at Columbine High School (April 28). The misfits who murdered 13 people in Littleton, Colo., would have acquired weapons one way or another, regardless of gun control. The amount of bombs they planted would have caused an equal or greater amount of death and destruction.
Why is it that Clinton is not proposing restrictions on the Internet? The misfits learned to build their bombs with formulas from the Internet. Clinton is using this tragedy to demonize law-abiding citizens and further eroding our freedoms. And no, I am not a member of the NRA and I have never owned a gun!

The vitriolic rhetoric and finger-pointing by the naysayers on the left and right, ignited by the tragedy at Columbine High School, is another wedge issue forcing Americans apart. As a first step to mollify the lynch mob, I propose the following compromise: Have conservatives give up the NRA, if the liberals will give up the ACLU.
