Cruz Returning to Lancaster

The Seattle Mariners assigned first baseman Cirilo Cruz and pitcher Neil Longo to Lancaster. Cruz, who was batting .164 at double-A New Haven, was the JetHawks’ most valuable player last season with a .311 average and 104 runs batted in.
The right-handed Longo was promoted from Wisconsin, where he was 2-2 with a 0.96 earned-run average. Last season at Everett, Longo was 6-2 with a 2.26 ERA.

Gerald Eady had three hits, including a double, and two RBIs and Harvey Hargrove had three RBIs for host Lancaster in an 11-9 victory over San Jose (17-12) on Friday. Brandon Parker (3-0) remained unbeaten by going six innings to help the JetHawks (11-18) snap a four-game losing streak.
