Owens Homers Twice, Titans Defeat Aggies

Ryan Owens hit two home runs and winning pitcher Adam Johnson gave up two earned runs as Cal State Fullerton defeated New Mexico State, 13-5, in a Big West Conference baseball game Friday in Las Cruces, N.M.

Owens, who has 14 home runs, had three hits and three runs batted in for the Titans (41-9, 22-3 in conference), who had 11 hits and broke open a close game with a five-run sixth.

David Bacani hit a two-run home run and Shawn Norris also hit a home run for the Titans.

Johnson (9-2) gave up eight hits, five walks and struck out seven for Fullerton.

New Mexico State (17-34, 6-19) will host Fullerton today and the three-game series concludes Sunday.

In another conference game:

Long Beach State 6, Sacramento State 3--The 49ers (29-18, 16-8) gave Coach Dave Snow his 600th career victory.
