‘Mummy’ Doesn’t Scare Fans Away

In the calm before the storm--the weekend before the new “Star Wars” movie opens--Universal’s “The Mummy” dominated the competition by taking in $24.9 million at the box office to remain No. 1 for the second week running. Among new films, “Black Mask” grossed $4.4 million and “William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream” took in $4.3 million, both with high per-screen averages.
