Lowe’s Announces Plan for Palmdale Superstore

Lowe’s Cos., one of the nation’s largest retailers of home improvement products, announced Monday that it will continue its move into the crowded Southern California market with the construction of a new Palmdale superstore.
Located on a 13-acre site at Highway 14 and Avenue P (in the Marketplace center), the 150,000-square-foot store is expected to open early next year. In March, Lowe’s announced plans to build its first three Southern California stores in Long Beach, Rancho Cucamonga and Temecula, with plans to open those stores before Christmas.
Hoping to get a piece of the nation’s largest home improvement market, North Carolina-based Lowe’s plans to invest more than $500 million in the Los Angeles area to build 30 home improvement superstores over the next three years, according to a company news release.
Lowe’s currently has 529 stores in 37 states.
