More than 200 professional and amateur golfers hit the links Monday for the fifth annual Newport Beach Open, one of the fastest-growing golf events in Southern California, at the Newport Beach Country Club. The tournament featured two shotgun rounds, with the 8 a.m. round open to professionals and amateurs with handicaps of 12 or under and the 2 p.m. round open to amateurs and corporate foursomes.
