It’s official: Olympiad Park will be renamed in memory of the late Florence Griffith Joyner, the Olympic track and field champion and Mission Viejo resident who died last year. The City Council unanimously approved the renaming of the park Monday night and approved a $2.7-million contract to build the park on Olympiad Drive between Applegate and Alicia Parkway.
