Softball
King, a left fielder from Esperanza High, had several key hits as the Chargers won three games in the Southern California playoffs. She was six for nine and drove in seven runs overall, including two hits and three RBIs as the Chargers beat Cuesta, 10-3, in the regional title game.
D.J. Houlton
Santa Ana, Sophomore
Baseball
Houlton, from Servite High, came up big for pitching-thin Santa Ana in the playoffs. Houlton retired the first 18 Cerro Coso hitters and gave up only three hits in the Dons’ 12-3 victory. It was the first complete game this season for Houlton (3-1), who had 12 strikeouts.
