Shot seven-under-par 65 at Canyon Country Club in Palm Springs to win his second Southern Section individual title in three years. Sinay’s round broke the tournament record of 66 set by Tiger Woods at Santa Barbara’s La Cumbre Country Club in 1994. Sinay, who won his other title as a freshman at Canyon, had eight birdies, including four through the first six holes.

Had four hits, including a grand slam, and six RBIs in upset of top-seeded Servite.
Dennis Alshuler/Volleyball; Corona del Mar/Senior
Totaled 58 kills in five-game victories over El Toro and North Hollywood Harvard-Westlake.
Augie Escobar/Track; Villa Park/Junior
Ran fastest time in state this season (9:03.64) while winning Division II 3,200.
