The Veterans of Foreign Wars is selling “buddy poppies,” small flowers made by disabled veterans, in honor of Memorial Day. Fountain Valley veterans will be selling buddy poppies from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Ralphs, 9091 Garfield Ave.; Sam’s Club, 17099 Brookhurst St.; and Albertsons, 16061 Brookhurst St. The proceeds will be put in a hospital fund for needy veterans.
