The Planning Commission on Tuesday unanimously approved a permit for the Expo Design Center, planned for a vacant 4 1/2-acre lot on Rancho Niguel Road near Greenfield Drive. The project required lighting and landscaping conditions to conform with the city’s development codes and to placate Laguna Hills city planners, who were worried that the original design for the home improvement and furnishing showroom would block views from residents’ homes.
