Santo, Larsen Take Over Saddleback Swim Teams

Mike Santo and Larry Larsen have been named to coach the Saddleback College men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams for the 2000 season. The duo replaces Flip Darr, who retired after 26 years of heading the programs.
Santo, who has been the women’s water polo coach for the past three seasons, will add the women’s swimming and diving team to his coaching duties. He was an assistant under Darr for the past eight seasons.
Larsen, also the men’s water polo coach, was an assistant swim coach last season.

Steve Crapo, a former defensive back for Saddleback College, has been hired as a full-time instructor and assistant football coach at the college.
It will be Crapo’s second tenure under new head coach Mark McElroy. Crapo was an assistant under McElroy at San Clemente High School for the past six years.

Loara announced the hiring of Liza Soldivillo as girls’ volleyball coach. Soldivillo is a Loara graduate who was an assistant volleyball coach at the school for two years. Soldivillo replaces Wendy Carlson, who resigned to pursue her masters’ degree.

Travis Harlan, former All-Garden Grove League wide receiver from Los Amigos, has accepted an appointment to the Air Force Academy, Los Amigos Athletic Director Dave Auxier announced.
