In a nonleague game:
Banning Twin Pines 41, Fairmont 6--Marcus Bell rushed for 192 yards, scoring touchdowns on five of his 11 carries, to spark Twin Pines at Valley Christian High in Cerritos.
The visiting Bobcats (2-6) had their way with a shaky Husky defense, using a wing-T formation to roll up 383 yards on the ground.
Fairmont defenders were unable to wrap up Twin Pines running backs; all of Bell’s touchdown runs were the result of second efforts after being hit in the backfield.
Anthony Zamudio added 76 yards in 17 carries and Joseph Arneiz gained 93 yards in nine carries for the Bobcats.
Bell ran for three touchdowns in the first half, scoring on runs of 24, 17 and seven yards. He scored on a 56-yard run in the third quarter, and capped the scoring with a 39-yard run in the fourth quarter.
The Bobcat defense stuffed the Fairmont rushing game, holding running back Bryan Kim to just 51 yards in 21 carries. Matt Russell led the Huskies in rushing with 57 yards in 10 carries, including a two-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter after Twin Pines had built a 27-0 lead.
The Huskies attempted only five passes and two were intercepted. Fairmont had five turnovers, three of which led to Twin Pines touchdowns.
