EUGENE, Ore. — Joey Harrington threw three touchdown passes and ran for another in his first start as quarterback for Oregon to lead the Ducks to a 52-10 victory over Washington State Saturday night.
The Ducks, 6-3 overall and 4-2 in the Pacific 10, clinched a winning season, their sixth in a row, and made themselves eligible for a bowl bid.
Washington State (2-7, 1-5) was held to Rian Lindell’s 25-yard first-quarter field goal until backup quarterback Paul Mencke scored for the Cougars when he connected on a nine-yard touchdown pass to tight end Josh Shavies with 24 seconds to play.
