Anaheim police Tuesday arrested an 18-year-old man suspected of holding up a pedestrian at gunpoint Monday and then evading police during a three-hour manhunt.
Jorge Sanchez of Anaheim was arrested shortly before noon in the 1100 block of North Citron Street, the same area where he allegedly robbed the pedestrian at a pay phone, Anaheim Police Sgt. Joe Vargas said.
Sanchez was charged with armed robbery and resisting arrest. He was booked at the Anaheim Police Department jail.
Monday’s dragnet included 20 officers, police dogs and a helicopter. Officers conducted a house-to-house search in north Anaheim.
On Tuesday, officers saw Sanchez near the intersection of La Palma Avenue and West Street. After a brief pursuit, Sanchez was arrested, police said.
