The City Council on Monday voted unanimously to change its regular meetings to the second and fourth Tuesdays of the month, beginning in January.
Council members decided to make the change to give themselves and city staff more time to review their weekly agenda packet, which contains information about items before the council.
Changing the meeting day also would give staff an extra day to prepare the reports, said Dave Kiff, deputy city manager.
Residents can get agenda information and staff reports through the city’s Web site, www.city.newport-beach.ca.us, by visiting the public counter at the clerk’s office or by calling the city at (949) 644-3005.
