Banning 36, El Camino Real 29--James Carter intercepted Jonathan Graham’s desperation pass at the Banning 20-yard line with 1:35 remaining to preserve the top-seeded Pilots’ victory at Banning.
The Pilots (6-5) played the second half without running back Chris Howard, who aggravated a right knee injury.
Howard, who has committed to USC, rushed for 104 yards and two touchdowns in 14 carries to help Banning take a 28-23 lead.
El Camino Real (4-6) pulled within 36-29 with 10 minutes to play when Graham connected with Kenton Morris on a 50-yard touchdown pass play.
Graham completed 10 of 17 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns, with one interception.
Morris had three catches, all for touchdowns, totaling 138 yards.
The teams combined for more than 250 yards in penalties, including five delay-of-game calls against El Camino Real.
