Passenger Killed in Car, Pickup Collision

VAN NUYS — A 20-year-old man was killed early Sunday when the Ford Taurus in which he was a passenger collided with a Toyota pickup truck, police said.
The crash occurred about 2:45 a.m. at Balboa Boulevard and Saticoy Street, said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Rod Grahek.
Grahek said the Ford was eastbound on Saticoy when it collided with the westbound pickup, which was attempting to turn left onto Balboa.
The passenger in the Ford had critical injuries and was transported to Northridge Hospital Medical Center, where he died at 3:25 a.m. Authorities did not release his name pending notification of relatives.
Both drivers suffered minor injuries, Grahek said. The accident is under investigation.
