The Planning Commission on Monday stalled a resident’s proposal to run a large, family day-care facility at her home on San Doval Lane after hearing from half a dozen homeowners who opposed the project.
Zahra Shahidi, who is licensed by the state, submitted the petition to expand the number of children she can care for from seven to 14. Shahidi said she applied for the permit so that she could offer after-school day care to students at O’Neill Elementary School, which is also on San Doval Lane.
The commission agreed with residents that the expansion would add to traffic on the street.
