Kid Rock is keeping busy on his tour, which is at the Hollywood Palladium this weekend. Having had a recording studio installed in his tour bus, he’s using off-hours to produce a debut album by DJ Kracker, who mans the turntables in Kid’s band. It’s due March 21. . . . Meanwhile, Kid Rock also makes a guest appearance as a rapper on two tracks and as a producer on another for an upcoming album by fellow Detroiter Robert Bradley’s Blackwater Surprise. . . . Rapper DJ Quik, who has just finished his next album, has been asked by Rage Against the Machine to do a remix of the band’s “Guerrilla Radio,” and there’s talk of Rage and Quik collaborating on new material. . . . Lou Reed has finished his next album, co-producing with Hal Willner. Laurie Anderson (Reed’s significant other) is a guest on violin on one track, and the album features a centerpiece 18-minute epic titled “Like a Possum.” The set is due in mid-April.
