* Ten City Section meets scheduled for Thursday at Pierce College or Griffith Park in Los Angeles were postponed because of hot weather.
The meets are scheduled for the same times and places Monday.
Among the meets postponed were three Valley Mission League events and seven nonleague meets.
MISCELLANEOUS
* La Canada High water polo players Bryan Hiscox, Cyrus Jamnejad and Matt Spence were chosen as finalists for a National Merit Scholar Award.
The three seniors were among 10 La Canada students selected based on their SAT and PSAT scores.

* Tryouts for Team Geronimo’s Renegades 18-and-under travel softball team are scheduled for Sunday at El Cariso Park in Sylmar.
