Sundays in Solano Canyon
I have fond memories of Sunday visits to my grandmother, who lived in Solano Canyon from 1925 into the 1940s (“Found: The American Dream,” by Maryann Hudson-Harvey, Sept. 5). We shopped at an Amador Street market called “Yes-siree”--that was how the Italian woman greeted her customers.
I walked with my grandmother down Solano Avenue to Broadway to catch a streetcar to the Grand Central Market or to the Million Dollar Theatre to see a vaudeville show. Great memories!
