Police Seek Man in Sexual Assault

Police were searching Sunday for a man who sexually assaulted a 37-year-old woman after entering her Encino home and wielding a knife.
The man entered the home about 8 p.m. Saturday through an unlocked patio door, confronting the woman who was home alone, according to officers at the West Valley Division of the Los Angeles Police Department.
The man, described as African American, about 6 feet 2 and 200 pounds, cut the victim twice during the assault, police said, and took some money before leaving. The incident is not believed to be related to a string of sexual assaults that have occurred in the San Fernando Valley since March, police said.
