The city is one of several in Orange County eligible to receive thousands of dollars from the federal government through the Community Development Block Grant.
This is the 26th year the city has participated in the program. Although a meeting for community input has already been held by the city, interested residents and nonprofit organizations can still suggest ideas and propose projects during the public hearing at the City Council meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.
In previous years, the city has used funds for deferred low-interest housing loans, free exterior house paint distribution and street and sidewalk improvements.
Projects to be considered this year include more trash cans for the Santa Fe area and a program for Placentia youths who would be paid to paint houses.
