Santa Ana College has been awarded a $400,000 federal grant designed to help schools rehabilitate the low-income neighborhoods surrounding their campuses. The money will be used to create a micro-enterprise center for child-care providers in the Santa Ana Empowerment Zone. The center will provide bilingual training and loans up to $5,000 for the licensing of new family child-care businesses.
