The Bowers Kidseum continues its celebration of Discovery Day, an alternative to Columbus Day on Monday, with a storytelling event at 2 p.m. Saturday. Organizers hope the new holiday will recapture the spirit of the first Columbus Day celebration in 1892 by putting the focus on the discovery of self, one’s community and other cultures, and not the explorer. The museum is at 1802 N. Main St. Admission is $8, $4 for children. Information: (714) 480-1522.
