Conrad’s Candidates
In his “Animal Farm” cartoon (Oct. 6), Paul Conrad depicts Republican and Reform Party candidates as animals in George Orwell’s famous barnyard. Fair enough. However, out of a sense of fairness and equity--two words that have always been nonexistent in Conrad’s vocabulary--he should depict the Democratic candidates, Bill Bradley and Al Gore, in his next cartoon. Might I suggest two “stiffs” laid out in a funeral parlor, waiting to be embalmed?
