Tenants Get Magic Kingdom Treat

Assembled in Anaheim to promote the Downtown Disney entertainment mall, tenants-to-be got the Magic Kingdom treatment Tuesday night: a reception at Disneyland’s private Club 33 and dinner at the Haunted Mansion. The latter featured a band of musical zombies, fog machines, tombstones with guests’ names, and spooky harpsichord music accompanying the meal. . . . Thanks to an organizing push by tourism groups, the number of Orange County participants in the 15th annual California Coastal Cleanup Day was up by 32% from last year, according to the Anaheim/Orange County Visitor and Convention Bureau. Many of the 4,300 cleanup volunteers on Sept. 18 were transported to sites from San Clemente to Huntington Beach by sightseeing and charter buses. . . . The Newport Beach-based consulting firm Leisure Entertainment Development & Operations has been hired to plot strategies for the Yamay Resort, a complex in Taichung, Taiwan, that includes a theme park, water park, hotel and retail center. . . . The Newport Harbor Nautical Museum has eliminated its $4 admission fee, saying it will rely on memberships, donations and sponsorships for funding.
