Westlake will be trying to reverse a recent losing trend against Newbury Park in a Marmonte League game tonight at Newbury Park.
The Warriors (4-1, 1-0), ranked No. 3 in the region by The Times, have lost three of the last four games against Newbury Park (3-2, 2-0).
Newbury Park has won seven of 10 games against Westlake in the 1990s.
“Newbury Park’s had their way with a lot of people,” said Coach Jim Benkert of Westlake. “But I’ll bet you [winning] three times in nine years ranks up there againstwhat other teams have done.
“They might be 9-0 against other teams.”

Newbury Park will donate proceeds from its sales at the concession stand tonight against Westlake to a hospitalization fund for Matt Emole.
Emole, a former football player at Newbury Park, was paralyzed in an auto accident last summer and remains hospitalized.
“It’s a good cause for a good kid,” Coach George Hurley of Newbury Park said.
