TV, Movie Stars in Benefit Readings

Angela Bassett and Courtney Vance present “Silly Shivers,” spooky story readings by TV and film celebrities to benefit the nonprofit Virginia Avenue Project, at Every Picture Tells a Story on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.
Lisa Gaye Hamilton (“The Practice”), Kathy Kinney (“The Drew Carey Show”), “Ally MacBeal’s” Greg Germann, Sharon Gless, Ethan Phillips, Marg Helgenberger and Alan Rosenberg are expected to perform. In addition, there will be magicians, refreshments and a silent auction.
Proceeds will help support Virginia Avenue Project programs that bring together at-risk children and teenagers with theater and film professionals.
Benefit tickets are $25 per adult, $10 per child, or $55 for a family of four. Information: (310) 330-8860.
