Regarding “Delta Quirk” (Weekend Escape: Sacramento, Sept. 23):
I really enjoyed the article about the Sacramento River Delta because it brought back fond memories. I lived in Rio Vista 17 years ago and enjoyed the slow pace and easygoing lifestyle of the delta. I worked in Walnut Grove for a while and sometimes would go to Locke to have lunch at Al’s Place. At that time they had peanut butter and jelly on the tables so patrons could make sandwiches to go with their steaks! The delta region is rich with history, great fishing, wonderful places to go to by boat and a sense that you have stepped back into a different time.
