Sound Source Reports $1.8-Million 4th-Qtr. Loss

Sound Source Interactive, Calabasas, reported a net loss for the fourth quarter ended June 10 of $1.8 million, compared to a net income of $41,359 for the same period last year. Revenue declined 81.5% to $666,956 compared to $3.6 million.

For the year ended June 30 the company reported a net loss of $4 million, compared to net income of $501,200 for the prior fiscal year. Revenue dipped to $4.6 million, compared to $8.9 million for fiscal 1998.

The loss was largely attributable to poor sales of key products, the company said.

The company publishes children’s interactive CD-ROM software, based on licensed content from children’s literature, motion pictures and television.
