The city will present its fourth annual Make a Difference Day on Saturday.
Participants will begin with coffee and muffins at 8 a.m. at the top of the Santa Clara Avenue parking structure between Chestnut and California streets.
Volunteers will be given T-shirts and sent off to one of 30 projects, such as picking up trash on Main Street, planting gardens and landscaping at local schools, or painting gym equipment at the Rainbow Bridge playground.
The day ends with a free barbecue at Arroyo Verde Park. Last year, the event drew 1,000 volunteers.
