An ordinance that would raise council members’ monthly salaries from $400 to $500 was passed on a majority vote Monday night during the City Council meeting.
The ordinance passed again on its second reading on a 3-2 vote. Councilmen Steven C. Anderson and John C. Holmberg voted no, as they did during the first reading two weeks ago.
The increased salaries are effective December 2000 after a newly elected council is sworn in.
