Notre Dame Gets Doubled Over, 10-8

Harvard-Westlake High dominated doubles play and beat Notre Dame, 10-8, on Tuesday in a Mission League girls’ tennis match at Studio City Golf and Tennis.
Chelsea Heller and Shilpa Madhaun swept their sets at No. 1 doubles for the Wolverines (8-2, 5-1 in league play), who won only two sets in singles.
Harvard-Westlake lost only one set in doubles and got a sweep from the No. 2 team of Lisa Feigenbaum and Zelda Harris.
Calabasas 18, Malibu 0--Kathy Habuki and Andrea Leewong (38-0) swept at No. 1 doubles and the Coyotes (10-2, 3-0) lost only four games in doubles play in a Frontier League match at Calabasas.
Granada Hills 7, Cleveland 0--Jasmin Dao beat Cindy Yim, 8-3, at No. 1 singles to help the visiting Highlanders win their 50th consecutive West Valley League match.
Caryn Linder and Shannon Slotnick also won to help Granada Hills (9-0, 6-0) sweep the Cavaliers (7-2, 2-0).
Burbank 10, Burroughs 8--Olga Yepremian (20-1 in league matches) swept at No. 1 singles, 6-1, 6-2 and 6-0 for the Bulldogs (9-1-2, 6-1) in a Foothill League match at Burbank.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
Valencia def. Saugus, 15-8, 14-16, 15-6, 15-11--The Vikings (13-2, 5-0) took over first place in the Foothill League behind Sara Foster’s 21 kills and seven blocks in a victory over Saugus (6-3, 4-1).
Taft def. El Camino Real, 12-15, 15-9, 15-1, 15-9--Trisha Bratford had nine of her 25 kills in the fourth game for the Toreadors (8-1, 5-1) in a West Valley League match at Taft.
WOMEN’S SOCCER
Ventura 3, Cuesta 0--Sarah Costello scored two goals for the Pirates (11-3-3, 7-0-2) at Cuesta (10-6-3, 6-2-1).
