Indians Still Have Hart, and He Takes a Beating

So John Hart dismisses Mike Hargrove as manager of the Indians because the team needs to start “a new era of success.” Perhaps the place to start instead should be a new general manager who wouldn’t doom his field manager to unavoidable defeat by trading away awesome baseball talent such as Sean Casey, Brian Giles, Jeromy Burnitz, et al, without even being able to come up with a single decent starting pitcher in return.

From where I stand, John Hart’s action is one of a craven coward. But hasn’t it always been the way general managers cover up their own incompetence . . . by firing their field manager? Portents of things to come in L.A.?
