OUTLOOK
Taylor replaces Bill Workman, who stepped down last spring after 13 seasons, and he has made several changes. The offense has changed from the I-formation to a multi-set look. Flint is back at quarterback after throwing for 1,545 yards and nine touchdowns. He threw so much during the summer that he developed a sore arm but after some rest it is fine. Ohrel is back at running back and his pass-catching skills will be used a great deal in the system. There are no fullbacks in Southern California stronger than Banks, according to Taylor. Castleton is back after missing the second half of last season with a shoulder injury. Ohrel and Johnson were elected team captains for the whole season, which hasn’t happened for 13 years. This is Orange Coast’s second and final year in the Northern Division, where Long Beach is the preseason favorite. But Mt. San Antonio and El Camino also are expected to be tough and Pasadena continues to improve.
