Kerkorian’s Wife Files for Divorce

The wife of billionaire Kirk Kerkorian, who controls Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, has filed for divorce after less than a month of marriage to the 82-year-old businessman.
The couple, who married Aug. 13, separated Thursday, according to papers filed Friday in Los Angeles County Superior Court. Lisa Kerkorian, formerly Lisa Border, who is in her early 30s, is seeking custody of the couple’s 1 1/2-year-old daughter, Kira.
Kirk Kerkorian owns investment firm Tracinda, which holds 89% of MGM’s shares and a large interest in DaimlerChrysler. MGM owns one of the world’s largest film libraries and has a market value of $3 billion.
