Lancaster 21, Chaminade 20--Defensive back Tony Ortiz stopped Chaminade running back Darrell Mason on a two-point conversion run with 2:26 remaining to preserve host Lancaster’s victory.
Chaminade had driven 82 yards in 12 plays, scoring on a three-yard run by Dennis Mikulich. Jon Palacios completed all six of his passes for 74 yards on the drive.
Chaminade got the ball back on its 18-yard line with one minute to play, but Palacios was unable to complete a pass in four attempts.
Ortiz rushed for 177 yards in 16 yards and scored on a 79-yard run on the second play of the game. He later scored on a nine-yard run as Lancaster built a 21-7 halftime lead.
Chaminade controlled the second half. Mikulich capped two long drives with touchdown runs of four and three yards.
Palacios completed 16 of 27 passes for 222 yards with one touchdown, with one interception.
Scott Hass had nine catches for 83 yards for Chaminade.
