‘Giselle’ Cast Announced

San Francisco Ballet has announced principal casting for its new production of “Giselle,” Oct. 6-10 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa.
Tina LeBlanc will dance the title role the evening of Oct. 6 and the afternoon of Oct. 10. She will be followed by Yuan Yuan Tan, Oct. 7; Joanna Berman, Oct. 8; Kristin Long, Oct. 9 (matinee), and Lucia Lacarra, Oct. 9 (evening).
Roman Rykine will dance Albrecht on Oct. 6 and 10 (matinee). He will be followed by Vadim Solomakha, Oct. 7; Pierre-Francois Vilanoba, Oct. 8; Parrish Maynard, Oct. 9 (matinee), and Yuri Possokhov, Oct. 9 (evening).
Former Joffrey Ballet principal dancer Lorena Feijoo will make her company debut in the role of Myrtha on Oct. 6. She will also dance the role Oct. 8. She will be succeeded by Muriel Maffre, Oct 7. and 9 (evening); Julia Adam, Oct. 9 (matinee), and Sherri LeBlanc, Oct. 10 (evening).
This production of “Giselle” has been conceived and choreographed by company artistic director Helgi Tomasson.
Evening performances will begin at 8 p.m. Matinees will start at 2 p.m. Tickets: $10-$68. Information: (714) 556-2787.
The San Francisco Ballet was last seen at the center in 1996, dancing Tomasson’s “Swan Lake.”
