Re “A New Turn by LACMA,” editorial, Sept. 12” Hear hear! The Los Angeles County Museum of Art is a fine museum and has improved a lot over the years but bigger is not always better. And it is one thing to recycle exhibitions, but to jam paintings and people together in small spaces as was done in the recent Van Gogh exhibit is a disgrace.
Yes, money is important, but it is only creative activity of the highest quality presented appropriately that will assure the continuing community financial support that LACMA needs and deserves to become a truly great museum.
