Dodger Fans Not Happy About Being in This Chase

I see that Rupert Murdoch was given The Silver Sewer award in Washington this week in recognition of his management of Fox TV.

A good boss always shares credit with his subordinates. How about something for Chase Carey? The Silver Cellar sounds good.

Now that Calista Flockhart and “Ally McBeal” have legitimized Fox Television by winning Emmy Awards, how long do you think it will take Chase Carey to trade them to NBC for the rights to MacLean Stevenson and reruns of “Hello, Larry”?

The first time I have felt really good about the Dodgers since last May 15 was last Saturday, when I read that Kevin Malone has tried to get Mike Piazza back from the Mets. Realistically, it’s a shot in the dark, but if Malone could pull it off, he’d become a hero in Southern California. I know I’m not alone when I say trading Piazza was the worst mistake in this franchise’s history, and it will come back to haunt us time and again. If they never do anything right again, please, first bring Mike back where he belongs.

All the articles about the Dodgers pursuing Mike Piazza are a slap in the face to the fans and especially to Mike. We all know there is no possible way the Mets would trade him back to the Dodgers. Why toy with our emotions and his?

After reading that the Dodgers have tried to reacquire Mike Piazza, I was wondering if it was too late to try to reacquire Peter O’Malley, Fred Claire and Bill Russell.
